What's the right hairstyle for my face shape?

Everyone hates those bad hair days when our head looks like a newly-builty bird's nest or a dead plant. What could be worse right? Well, having a bad hair day everyday.

Like clothes, there a a hundred cuts that look good - on the magazine. But there are several which will probably suit you.

Instead of tackling hairstyles for each face shape, we'll help you remedy problem areas instead.

Prominent cheeks and jaw - for girls with round, diamond, square and heart-shaped faces, the main problem is the tendency to look plump because of the larger cheek or jaw area. To remedy that, just do what Charice Pempengco does. She covers it up with her long hair. Choose a layered hairstyle with wispy, tapered ends (that fall in the right places, unlike Charice's old haircut which left her jaw exposed).

If you have short hair, make sure that it is fuller at the crown and has less volume near the cheeks. This will even out the proportion. See pic below: Kelly Clarkson, yes; Kelly Osbourne, probably not (unless you're a celebrity and can rock any hairstyle).

Large forehead - Having a large forehead is usually the problem of people with triangular faces. Pop star Rihanna would be the best example. The basic rule is to cover it up so that people would focus more on your beautiful face than on your forehead. Rihanna has learned how to do that through time.

Square jawline - the problem with having a square face is that it tends to give off a masculine feel. You can counter this by having soft layers to your hair. Check out Salma Hayek's hairstyles.

Long face - oval-face-shaped women can get away with everything. They are the ones who can flaunt even the shortest of hairstyles and still look good. However, some oval-faced people (especially the thin ones) have long faces. Some of the best hairstyles to have are curls, shoulder-length and even a bob. You can also add bangs to cut the length of the face. One Hollywood celebrity you can look up is Julia Roberts.

flaunt your beautiful hair!
