Nokia Lumia: Illuminating your hi-tech lifestyle

I've always been a fan of Nokia. When I first got a cell phone (still in elementary), I was lucky enough to get a Nokia 3310. It was so sturdy that it was able to withstand six years with clumsy me. But gone are the days of monochrome displays. It's all about touch and Internet connection now.

That is why I am so excited that  Nokia Lumia 820 and 620 are coming to the Philippines. I'm a sucker for camera phones so Nokia Lumia 620's autofocus 5MP camera will fit into my foodie and fashion lifestyle. And the candy colors! So nice.

Of course the best part is the Live Tiles and Windows Phone 8. Uber cool eh?

With the stylish phones out there, Nokia Lumia is definitely a must-have accessory for the modern fashionista.

stay cool and trendy,

-K

Spot Corrector for sun-loving girls

When I was a teenager, I used to spend a lot of time in the sun, doing sports and other outdoor activities. Back then, I had no idea how important it is to apply SPF. Now that I’ve grown up, I have to pay for those days with dark spots and uneven skin tone.

Good thing there have been a lot of beauty products in the market that promise to lighten skin tone and remove dark spots.

I tried Luminaze Catalytic Skin Tone Illuminator and Dark Spot Corrector (you can visit their website at http://www.luminaze.com/) since I learned that they use natural ingredients.

The product comes in a dual pump system. To apply it, pump the Active Luminaze Enzyme LIP in the first container and spread evenly on skin. This active ingredient breaks down melanin in the skin and thus lightening dark spots. Then, pump the Bio Activator in the second container and spread evenly on skin, right after applying the Active Luminaze Enzyme LIP.

After a month, I noticed that my dark spots had started to vanish, leaving a blemish-free skin. It also leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated, especially right after use. It doesn't feel greasy or heavy like the other creams in the market.

It’s safe and non-comedogenic, making it the perfect product for women who have sensitive skin, like me. Plus, it’s fragrance-free too. I just love fragrance-free beauty products – from foundation (I use mineral powder) and concealers, to deodorants and hand sanitizers.

Clinique's Even Better Moisturizer (SPF 20)

A couple of months ago, another relative from the US visited us and I was able to get a hold of a couple of beauty products, one of which is Clinique's Even Better moisturizer.

I've been looking for a really soothing moisturizer and I think I finally found it. I have oily skin but after every wash it feels real dry so the Even Better moisturizer really helps hydrate the skin.

Top 10 Pinay wardrobe essentials

Still looking for the perfect LBD? Buying a new pair of sexy jeans? Want to revamp your closet? Hold your shopping checklist as we give you the top ten Pinay wardrobe essentials.

We at StreetSmartCharm loved the show Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style so we’ve modified his top ten wardrobe must-haves and made our clothes selection more appropriate to the Philippine weather so every Filipina fashionista will have the most comfortable yet stylish everyday outfit. Here are our top picks:

1. Basic black dress – Often called the “Little Black Dress,” this wardrobe essential is on number one for many reasons. It’s a classic - it never goes out of style, it can be paired with different tops (such as the chiffon flowy sando), it’s versatile - can be worn at work or at a party, and it’s great for those you-simply-can’t-decide-what-to-wear occasions. When buying an item, just remember to fit the dress. Have the patience to hop from one store to another until you see the one that flatters your figure. I like seeing ones that hug the hip and thighs perfectly, those that hit just 3-5 inches above the knees. Choose the dress with a durable, comfortable material that’s good to wear all year round.
